Beth Carey

Originally from Georgia, I met my husband, John, while serving in the Air Force. We have  been married for 30+ years and have lived in Western New York for over twenty years. We have two daughters and three sons, ages 33-22. I gave birth to my first child at a military hospital in Guam. It was not quite the experience I had hoped for and began exploring other birthing options during my second pregnancy.  I was blessed to meet an incredible midwife named, Patti, who attended my next three births at home.  My last child was born at a local hospital with the loving support of my husband and oldest daughter. I have always been interested in prenatal nutrition, pregnancy, and childbirth. Being a birth doula is one of my passions and I love supporting families during their pregnancy, labor, and the transition to parenting!  My other passions are following Christ , loving my family and friends, being involved in social and environmental issues, reading about birth and breastfeeding, preparing healthy food, organic gardening, making my home creative, inviting and reasonably clean :)

"Beth was such a wonderful doula to have support my husband and I during the pregnancy and the delivery of our first born.  She was very informative, pleasant and accommodating.  Whether it was through calming me down through the early stages of labor, reminding me on breathing technique, or just helping with pressure point massage during contractions, it definitely made my very long labor (21.5 hour) delivery a wonderful and positive experience.  My husband and I interviewed 3 doulas prior to making our decision, and going with Beth was the obvious choice and we are very happy that we did.  I would recommend anyone have Beth as her birth doula! Oh, and I still dream of the brownies she brought me after delivery. They were probably the best brownies I ever had! " Daphne, first time mom
